Tour of the Doll Room at Land of Oz Dolls Continues!

Good morning everyone! Today my tour of the doll room at Land of Oz Dolls continues. I know most of you are too far away to ever be able to visit in person so I have had many requests to add this virtual tour to the website. I hope you enjoy your look around and more photos coming yet another day! Dolly Hugs, Connie Zink

Starting my Tour of the Doll Room at Land of Oz Dolls!

Good morning all! During my Open House last week, I had many requests from people for an online tour of the doll room for those too far away to attend in person. So today will start my virtual tour of the many displays within the doll display room. Most of the dolls are for sale, I only have a few dolls in there that are not. My 5 foot Lady Grace is not for sale as I will probably never get another one totally completed. I also have a few antique German dolls mixed in for display purposes only that I have purchased reasonably at doll shows. If you see a doll you are interested in or have questions about just email me at landofozdolls@mchsi.com . Some dolls are no longer available and have been sold since I took these photos.

“Daisy” The Doll That Came To Life “Photo of the Day”

Today’s “Photo of the Day” September 1st, 2014 for Land of Oz Dolls is actually three photos that were taken back on February 9th, 2011. The two larger dolls are an 18″ Kestner “Daisy” on the left and the 18″ Handwerck “Daisy” on the right. The Kestner 171 “Daisy” is made from the Seeley mold. The Handwerck version of “Daisy” is made from an old Handwerck 109 mold I had found. Both heads are on the same Daisy body, but one has a slightly larger forehead than the other so the difference in height. The smaller one in front is the “Daisyette” Kestner from the Collectible Doll Co. mold. Costumes were made by Pam Willits and Clara Pelfrey.

“Daisy” the Kestner 171 version, originally was “The Doll That Came To Life” through The Ladies Home Journal magazine back in 1911. I will be posting the complete history of “Daisy” soon but until then I hope you enjoy my “Photos of the Day” for “Daisy”.

New “Photo of the Day” at Land of Oz Dolls!

Good morning all, and Happy Labor Day Weekend! For the last few months I have been doing a “Photo of the Day” on my Land of Oz Dolls Facebook page. It has been so popular, I have decided to try it out on my website for all of you who do not have access to Facebook. These photos are of dolls I have made in the past and are probably no longer available for sale. If you see one you are really interested in it wouldn’t hurt to ask, it may still be available. Otherwise the photos are for fun and to give you a daily dose of dolly hugs! Please let me know if you like them!

My first “Photo of the Day” is actually a black and white photo of some patriotic Bleuettes. The one on the left is a Bleuette “Friend” made from the 1907 Jumeau mold from Collectible Doll Co. The two in the center are Bleuette “Golds” SFBJ 60 made from a Seeley mold. The one on the right is a Premiere Jumeau Bleuette also made from a Seeley mold. They are all dressed in patriotic costumes created by Clara Pelfrey.
